Holidays are here again, as for me I decided not to put a tree up this year and try something a little different. Does anyone watch @rebeccarobeson? She has the best YouTube videos for holiday decorating, she has a different theme each year and it's always amazing to watch what she ends up doing. This year she worked on a DIY broken mirror Christmas tree, her second one. I figured heck I have all the supplies why not give it a try.
First you need a wood board, mirror, glue, eye protection, gloves, hammer, sanded grout and lots of patience. If you're like me and want some sparkle, I added glitter to some madge podge and painted once the grout was dried all around and in between where there were empty spaces. This is where the patience was needed to get the podge off the mirror pieces. I ended up using acetone on cotton swaps that seemed to do the trick. I had planned to hang it up but for now I like it in my dining area so i can enjoy it while cooking up a meal over a glass of wine. Cheers to your festive holiday this year! Leave me a note if you end up trying this DIY, I would love to see how your tree art turns out.
